Ketegangan antara Indonesia dan Malaysia mulai terlihat tatkala kapal perang Malaysia berkali-kali memasuki perairan Indonesia terutama diwilayah Ambalat.
Pemerintahpun sudah merespon pelanggaran ini dengan jalan mengirimkan nota diplomatik berkal-kali, yang sudah tentu hasilnya tidak pernah ditanggapi serius oleh Pihak Malaysia. Wacana perangpun mulai bergulir, bagaimana dengan kekuatan militer kedua negara ?
